Cultural and religious confrontation of the content of satellite food programs with the principles of Iranian- Islamic food lifestyle

Abstract

The increasing expansion of the media has led to changes in the lifestyles of societies. Iranian-Islamic lifestyle is not out of the question.Food is one of the examples of culture that can transfer cultural and religious values.In the meantime, satellite food programs play an important role in presenting beliefs and values ​​of lifestyle, and one of the methods of their cultural transmission is the use of food and food programs.The purpose of this study is to investigate the status of the content of satellite nutrition programs in terms of Iranian-Islamic lifestyle.The research method is qualitative. In this study, the "Come to Dinner" program of "Me and You" network has been examined as an example.Data were extracted, analyzed and interpreted using the myering method.After analyzing the satellite diets of this study, their categories and subcategories in relation to the Iranian-Islamic diet were identified.The findings showed that the content presented in satellite food programs is in conflict with the principles of Iranian-Islamic lifestyle.Among the findings are "omission, opposition or disregard for religious concepts", "unhealthy nutrition", "serving non-Iranian food", "extravagance", "luxury", "hedonism" and "culture". "Individualism," he noted.Because nutrition can change the thinking, habits and values ​​of societies or change religious values, the media play an important role in guiding the nutritional lifestyle of societies.
